Sandlot Ministries, Inc. is a ministry organization dedicated to winning people for Jesus Christ and training them to fulfill their purpose for God. Sandlot Ministries seeks to make an impact in individuals lives, communities, and ultimately the world through our ministry efforts. We utilize baseball and softball instruction, community outreach events (SandBlast), and speaking engagements to share the hope that God offers through his son, Jesus Christ.
About the Founder of Sandlot Ministries
Reverend Stan Lovins is an inspired evangelist with a burning passion to see God’s healing and salvation arise in the heart and soul of today’s people with the love of Jesus Christ!
As an inner-city youth in Indianapolis, Stan grew up with five sisters in a home that faced many challenges of brokenness, poverty and despair. With no known hope for a future, Stan developed a passion in his heart to overcome his challenges by becoming a professional baseball player.
After graduating from College, Stan’s dream of playing professional baseball came true. His professional baseball career consisted of three years of minor league baseball as shortstop in the Great Central (A), Frontier (A) and Prairie (AA) Leagues, as well as Winter Ball with the Houston Astros.
Due to injuries sustained during a life changing car accident in January 1997, Stan cried out to God for truth. On December 1, 1997, Stan received the truth of Jesus Christ in his heart. Now with his life centered on the victory of Jesus Christ, he began testifying and using his many years of experience in baseball to instruct students, parents and coaches how to live a victorious life.
Stan has instructed both the 1999 and 2001 Brownsburg Indiana Little League World Series finalist teams, as well as the 2002 Central Regional Finalists.
Stan is currently the head manager of Team Victory baseball/softball teams through Sandlot Ministries. He has instructed ten young men who have gone on to play professional baseball.
As an inspirational speaker, Stan has witnessed tens of thousands give their lives to Christ, since 2005. He has spoken in schools, churches, businesses, banquets, and multiple other events. Stan is presenting the Good News of Jesus Christ, who ‘Gives us the Victory!’
